Irish Dreaming is a digital hub about dream interpretation from a Jungian perspective. We focus on the language, function and interpretation of dreams and the contribution they can make to understanding and enhancing our lives.
We describe how to interpret dreams, the purpose of dreams, and the language of dreams.
Night after night, our dreams present us with scenarios that reveal our secret fears and desires, the complexes that hold us back, and the conflicts that put us out of sync with ourselves and others. What is an even greater marvel, the symbols in these dreams possess the power to release us from the old constructs, to hone our instincts for adaptation, and to restore a wholeness of vision and being which can regenerate every aspect of our existence.
Big dreams are those dreams which are so powerful that they wake you up with a jerk. They come directly from the Self with unforgettable images that have lasting significance & can change the direction of your life. To ignore a Big Dream is to do so at your peril. Jung described the dreams in which the Self calls to us as 'Significant dreams...often remembered for a lifetime...the richest jewel in the treasure-house of psychic experience’.
Have your dreams interpreted and to learn how to interpret dreams! In our work we consider the different types of dreams; Anxiety Dreams, Prophetic Dreams, Recruiting Dreams & Big Dreams. We investigate the structure of the dreams, common symbols, archetypal, mythological, spiritual and cultural symbolism and take into account any background details that you might consider important.
Our Dream Interpretation Courses will provide an in-depth knowledge of both the theory and practical applications of Jungian dream-analysis. You will be shown how to understand dreams in the context of external situations, how to find solutions to problems, use dreams for guidance regarding your future, and how to use the energy of symbols for healing and transformation. The courses will include practice and training in dream-interpretation, notes for theory, and an original guide to the meaning of common dreams based on over 25 years of clinical experience.
The first stage in the process of interpretation is to understand the symbolic language of dreams therefore a recurring theme in the Dream Interpretation Course is the language of symbolism and the development of a symbolic attitude to the psyche. We will look at the structure of dreams, common dream symbols and how symbols work to master anxiety, negotiate dilemmas, deal with stress and depression and bring us to a new level of consciousness.
